Welcome to Antioch

Our History

Founded in 1823, Antioch Baptist Church has been preaching the truth, sharing the gospel, and serving the community for 200 years. We are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the oldest church in the Centennial Baptist Association.

Our Mission Statement

We exist to glorify God by reaching the un-churched population of our area for Jesus Christ (membership); developing them into mature disciples (maturity), responsible church members (ministry), with a world-view for extending the Kingdom of God (missions).

Our Prayer

Our prayer is that before you even step through the doors of our church, you will already feel at home and know that Antioch Baptist Church is a place where you will be loved. Most importantly, however, we pray that you will find the truth and grace of the Gospel here at Antioch and have the opportunity to grow in knowledge and satisfaction through Jesus Christ. It is our desire to see men and women come to know Christ deeply through the passionate preaching of His Word, genuine worship, and Spirit-led community.

OUR COMMUNITY

Although we are located in rural Upson County, GA, we are just a few short miles from the town of Barnesville, which is the county seat of Lamar County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 6,755 reisdents. Barnesville was once dubbed the "Buggy Capital of the South" as the town produced about 9,000 horse-drawn buggies a year around the turn of the 20th century. The town celebrates its buggy heritage with an annual Buggy Days Festival every Fall. Barnesville is also the home of Gordon State College, formerly Gordon Military College. Today, Barnesville is a quaint small town with various shops and businesses and Lamar County is a rural, farming community.

Our Staff

Staff

Senior Pastor - Rev. Eric Kincaid

On February 25, 2024, Rev. Eric Kincaid became our new Senior Pastor. He and his lovely wife, Nicole, and daughters, Catherine and Caroline, are now officially members of the Antioch family. A native of North Carolina, Eric has served churches in his home state as well as Kentucky, South Carolina, and Georgia. His passion for the Lord is obvious, as is his love for classic cars. We are so excited to welcome them to the Barnesville area and we look forward to all that God has in store for us as we move forward under Pastor Eric's leadership.

Minister to Students and Young Adults - Jacob Smith

Jacob joined the ministerial team at Antioch in October 2022. No strangers to the Barnesville area, Jacob and and his wife, Alyssa, are excited to help our students and young adults by developing  programs and activities that will build and strengthen young hearts and minds for the Lord.

Worship Leader and Choir Director - Cory McCook

Cory has been leading our worship services and directing our choir since 2007. He and his wife, Margaret, are both from musical families and have added a strong dynamic to our worship team for the past 15 years. They both have a great love for the Lord and a strong desire to serve Antioch through our music ministry.

Director of Children's Ministries - Shara Turner
